How to Opt Out of BeenVerified (2026)

Sirveil Team3 min read

The short version: go to beenverified.com/f/optout/search, search your name and state, click the record that matches you, enter your email address, and click the verification link BeenVerified sends. Free, no account needed, and removals typically process within 24 to 72 hours. One important nuance: BeenVerified's opt-out covers its own corporate siblings (PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, Ownerly) — but not Intelius or TruthFinder, which belong to a different company with a separate suppression process.

What BeenVerified knows about you

BeenVerified sells background reports built from public records and commercial data: name, age, address history, phone numbers, email addresses, relatives, property records, court records, and social media links. It is one of the most-advertised people-search brands, which means your listing there gets real traffic.

Know the corporate map before you start

This is the single most common mistake with BeenVerified opt-outs. Two different companies run lookalike people-search networks:

  • LTVCO (The Lifetime Value Co.) owns BeenVerified, PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, and Ownerly. One BeenVerified opt-out generally propagates across this family.
  • PeopleConnect owns Intelius, TruthFinder, InstantCheckmate, and US Search. These are a separate network with their own Suppression Center — a BeenVerified opt-out does nothing there.

If your goal is "remove me from all the background-check sites," you need at least both networks, plus the independent sites like Spokeo, Whitepages, TruePeopleSearch, and Radaris.

Step-by-step opt-out

  1. Go to beenverified.com/f/optout/search. You do not need to find your listing on the main site first — the opt-out flow has its own search.
  2. Search your first name, last name, and state. Browse the results carefully; with a common name there may be several records.
  3. Click the record that matches you ("That's the one" / select button).
  4. Enter your email address and complete any CAPTCHA. Use a real inbox — the confirmation goes there.
  5. Click the verification link in the email from BeenVerified (check spam). The request is not processed until you confirm.
  6. Verify after 72 hours, and repeat the search for name variants and old addresses — each distinct record needs its own opt-out.

Frequently asked questions

Does opting out of BeenVerified remove me from Intelius and TruthFinder? No. Those belong to PeopleConnect, a different company with its own Suppression Center. You must submit a separate request there to cover the Intelius/TruthFinder network.

Is the BeenVerified opt-out free? Yes — free, no account, no ID, roughly five minutes plus the email confirmation.

Rather not track two corporate networks yourself?
